‘You’ve Got a Friend’ is a genuinely moving, nostalgic concert performance - the music and legacy of Carole King and James Taylor. Two long-time friends and collaborators, hit songwriter, Kirsti Manna (Blake Shelton’s ‘Austin’, among others) and national recording artist, Jonathan Birchfield, capture the essence of friendship through music with their dynamic performances.
Audiences have long enjoyed Kirsti’s unique artistry on piano and vocals and Jonathan’s velvet toned vocals and guitar. Both artists have frequently been stylistically compared to Carole King and James Taylor. Now, with the same amazing onstage chemistry as those superstars, they take their audiences back in time with favorites like “How Sweet It Is,” “Carolina in My Mind,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” and of course, the incomparable, “You’ve Got a Friend.”
You’ve Got A Friend was the highlight of our 2015-16 season. Simply put, Kirsti Manna and Jonathan Birchfield were outstanding. The set list was 90 minutes of one amazing nostalgic hit after another recreating the soundtrack of our lives—we wanted to sing along, we were moved by the music and the memories, we didn’t want it to end. Their incredible vocals combined with Kirsti’s energetic connection with the audience and Jonathan’s cool laid back style complimented by the beautiful orchestrations—made this show a fantastic, extraordinary night of entertainment! Thank you for ending our season on such a high note!
Wishing you all well and continued success! It was a pleasure and honor working with you.

Kirsti and Jonathan have created a stunning presentation of the Music of Carole King and James Taylor. Their chemistry onstage sets them apart from any tributes I have seen. It was appealing to a broad audience sector, spanning three generations of music lovers. The band and the crew were great to work with. I am pleased to have presented their show at the Kirtland Center for the Performing Arts.
